WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TAKEN DOWN BY EVANGEL

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila women's basketball was unable to overcome a high-scoring night from Evangel, falling to the Valor, 95-48, on Wednesday.

The Valor led for the entire game, holding a 10-point lead after the first quarter and entered halftime with a 21-point advantage.

Avila was unable to get its shots to fall on Wednesday, only shooting 31 percent from the floor while turning the ball over 31 times.

Evangel put up 46 points in the second half to seal the victory.

Madilyn Melton extended her double-digit scoring streak to 11, dating back to last season, continuing her run as the only Eagle to put up 10 or more in each Avila game this season. 

Avila is back in action on Saturday, looking to pick up their second conference win at Sterling. Tipoff is slated for 1 PM.
