KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Wrapping up their 2025 nonconference schedule, Avila women's volleyball fell in three sets on Friday to Missouri Valley, 17-25, 21-25, 12-25.
The visiting Vikings got out to an early 8-1 lead in the first set before Avila brought it to within three midway through the opener. A late Avila run was not enough as Missouri Valley took the first frame, 17-25.
Avila put up a much tighter fight in the second frame. The two teams were evenly-matched with neither team leading by more than four for the duration. The Eagles brought it to within a point at 18-19, but the Vikings went on a 6-3 run to close the set out.
