Bio

Avery Smith is entering her second year as assistant coach at Avila in 2026-27. In addition to her role at Avila, Smith is also the head girls' soccer coach at Gardner Edgerton (Kan.) High School. Additionally, Smith earned her D license from the KSYSA-US Soccer D Course in 2026. 

A Kansas City native, Smith attended St. Teresa's Academy and currently coaches various teams at KC Legends.

Smith played collegiately for five years at Kansas Wesleyan University. At KWU, Smith was the 2022-23 KCAC Women's Soccer Champions of Character recipient, a KCAC Scholar Athlete award winner and was a member of the Kansas Wesleyan Dean's List each semester of her academic career.
