WOMEN’S SOCCER HAS THREE NAMED ALL-KCAC HONORABLE MENTION
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila women’s soccer’s Hope Hines, Annika Holtorf and Samantha Lasater were named All-KCAC Honorable Mention honorees, the conference announced today. It is the seventh time in eight seasons under head coach Katie LaForge that the program has had three or more all-conference selections.
Hines, a junior defender from Kansas City, was one of the stalwarts on Avila’s back line in 2025. She assisted on the game-winning goal in the 89th minute versus McPherson on Senior Day on Oct. 26 and started all 17 games in which she played. The recognition is Hines’ second All-KCAC honor, after being named All-KCAC Honorable Mention following her freshman season.
After finishing second on the team with four goals scored, tying for the team lead with five assists and leading the program with 13 points, Holtorf earns her first postseason all-conference recognition. The lone senior among the three Eagles, Holtorf started Avila’s year off with a bang, scoring the opening goal of the 2025 campaign in the 10th minute against Baker in the season opener. Holtorf’s senior season was her best in an Avila kit, recording career-highs in goals, assists and games started.
Lasater improved in nearly every statistical category compared to her freshman campaign and was the lone Eagle to start all 18 games this season. She tied Holtorf with five assists and finished third on the team with three goals scored, helping her earn her first postseason recognition. One of the most aggressive Eagles, Lasater led the program with 21 shots on goal this season.
In addition to finishing with the team lead, Holtorf and Lasater’s five assists this season were the third-most in the KCAC.
“We are excited for our team to be recognized and very proud of the three named to the honorable mention team,” said LaForge. “They all worked hard to get to this point and we can’t wait to see Hope and Sami return with the desire for more next year.”
