ANOTHER TOP-10 WOMEN’S BOWLING SHOWING AT MCKENDREE MATCH GAMES

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – In their first competition in nearly a month, Avila bowling put up pair of solid performances over the weekend at the McKendree Match Games just inside the Illinois state line, highlighted by another big weekend on the women's side.

Avila women finished the weekend picking up their second-straight top-10 finish in a Tier 1 event after a seventh-place finish.

Eagles senior Kirsten Zirjacks led Avila with a 188.2 tournament average and Kamdyn Burman had a 166.8 average in 20 Baker games.

Rebeka Fielder also had a strong showing for Avila, averaging 183.7 for the tournament, followed closely by Kiara Gonzalez (179.8) and Zoe Fox (176.0).

The Eagles finished in seventh place among the 20 teams with a combined score of 7,695.

On the men's side, Aidan Tesdal bowled an average of 184.3 in 20 Baker games while Garrett Messenger led all Eagles with a tournament average of 203, while Josh Oldham (197) and Brody Stanback (191.4) were the other Eagles averaging over 190 for the weekend.

Avila will hit the lanes again on Dec. 7 and 8 in Sioux City, Iowa for the Mustang Open.
