SOFTBALL HIRES HOLLIE CUNNINGHAM AS ASSISTANT COACH

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila softball has hired Hollie Cunningham as an assistant coach, head coach Charlie Kennedy announced today.

Cunningham comes to Kansas City after an assistant coaching stop at The New College of Florida and after a three-year playing career at Montreat College and two years at Walla Walla Community College.

“I am very excited to have Hollie join our coaching staff,” said Kennedy. “We faced her as a player her senior year at the NAIA Softball Invitational. After he playing career, she gained valuable experience at New College of Florida under head coach Corbin Weeks, who gave us a tremendous recommendation and she became one of our top candidates immediately. Hollie brings a vast array of outfield, slap hitting, defense and speed experience to our staff.”

At Montreat, Cunningham was a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honoree.

"I am thankful for this opportunity and excited to begin this next chapter as at Avila,” said Cunningham. “I am grateful to Coach Kennedy for believing in me and I can’t wait to get to work!"
