MEN’S WRESTLING LOSES CLOSE DUAL TO WILLIAM WOODS

FULTON, Mo. – Avila men's wrestling split the 10 matches at William Woods on Thursday night, but fell 26-24 overall to the Owls.

Highlighted by Rodney Trotter Jr.'s 9-8 decision over the 20^th-ranked wrestler, Austen Wetzel,  in the 197-pound class, Avila took five of the 10 total matches on Thursday night.

Raul Romero (125) and Tyler Johnson (141) each won their matchups via fall. In the 285-pound division, Gavin Howes won in an 8-1 decision in the final bout of the night to tie the dual at 5-5.

Avila is back in action on Saturday at the Spire Duals from Leavenworth, Kan., beginning at 11 AM.
