OTTAWA, Kan. – Less than 24 hours after picking up their second-straight victory, Avila men's volleyball faced a tough test on Saturday afternoon at Ottawa, losing in three sets to the Braves.
The young Eagles continue to grow in the first year of the reintroduction of the program.
The first set of the match was the tightest, with Avila falling 25-16. Ottawa recorded the first five points of the frame and Avila could not turn the corner to catch up.
Alan Uncal-Ramirez (11) and Chase Kreitzer (10) led the Eagles in assists while Darren Zheng and Sebastian Rodriguez's eight digs tied for the team lead.
The Eagles will wrap up their inaugural season next Saturday with a tri at Central Christian, taking on the Tigers at 1 PM before battling Hastings at 5 PM.
