ROBERT DAVIES NAMED KCAC MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior Robert Davies has been named the KCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Davies’ win is the first in men’s program history and the second in Avila’s brief history after Tia Wilsher’s win on Feb. 18.

“Robbie is a two-sport athlete whose dedication and enthusiasm for tennis has benefited us greatly,” said Avila head coach Jon Renberger. “Simply stated, he’s a winner and will fight for every point. As a junior, he is also the oldest in the program, so his leadership has been invaluable!”

Davies, the two-sport star who is also a member of Avila’s men’s soccer program, helped the men’s tennis program pick up its first dual win on Saturday, defeating Southwestern 5-2.

Davies won his singles match versus Southwestern, 6-1, 6-1. He was also joined by Dominic Lunn to win both of their doubles matches over Southwestern (6-1).
