MEN’S SOCCER LOSES TO FRIENDS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Suffering their seventh-straight loss on Wednesday, Avila fell to Friends at The Z, 4-1.

Friends controlled possession for nearly the entire match and picked up three of their first four goals in the final five minutes of the first half.

The Falcons scored in the 41st and 45th minutes and added their third goal less than 30 seconds after recording their second with the third coming from nearly 40 yards out.

Entering halftime, Friends held a 3-0 lead.

Avila got on the scoreboard early in the second half. After Deagen Loomis was taken down in the box, senior Robert Davies stepped to the spot and drilled a PK to get the Eagles on the scoreboard.

Friends put the game out of reach in the 70th minute with their fourth and final goal of the afternoon on an unseasonably warm day in Kansas City.

Avila will next travel to Tabor on Saturday for an 8 PM kickoff against the Bluejays.
