EAGLES BOWLING WRAPS UP MUSTANG INVITATIONAL

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – A big performance played out on the lanes for Avila bowling this weekend as the men had one of their best showings in recent memory.

On Saturday in the Mustang Invitational, Zoe Fox rolled an average of 170.5 in four games bowled and helped the women's squad put up a sixth-place finish with a combined team score of 4,074.

The women's team wrapped up on Sunday with a seventh-place finish with a score of 3,943 pins.

The Mustang Invitational is where the men's team would shine thanks to both strong individual and team performances.

Saturday's tournament saw junior Brody Stanback put up an average of 206.4 in five games to help Avila finish fifth overall with a 4,771 combined score. Stanback's performance was good to finish No. 7 overall in Saturday's individual standings.

Davis Best also had a strong Saturday, notching a score of 201.4 in five games.

Avila had three bowlers finish in the top-20 on Saturday: Stanback, Best (No. 13) and Aidan Tesdall (No. 16, 195.8 average).

Sunday was another hugely successful day for the Eagle men, as the team finished second overall with a combined score of 4,791. Additionally, in 20 Baker games, Tesdall put up a combined score of 192.6.

Avila has more than a month off from competition before both the men and women are back in action on January 18 and 19 at the Cougar Open in Columbia, Mo.
