Growing the program from the ground up, Don Turner was named the first head coach in Avila women’s flag football history on April 13, 2026.

Turner is a 2023 Avila graduate, where he was a member of two KCAC championship teams as a linebacker for the Eagles. Turner is very familiar with the recruiting scene in the Kansas City area, serving as the defensive coordinator at Ruskin High School from 2023-25 as well as coaching seven-on-seven football at Building Champions Football Academy in Overland Park.
