CHEER PLACES SECOND BY 0.77 POINTS AT EAGLE INVITE

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Competing on their home mat for the first time under head coach Julia Kramm, Avila cheer took second place at the Eagle Invite on Sunday, with a final score of 82.83, just 0.77 points behind first-place Park University.

In the first competition of what is hopeful to be an annual event at Mabee Fieldhouse, the Eagles performed their 2:15 routine admirably with a deduction of just 1.0 in their second-place finish.

The Eagles routine is one of the more difficult ones in the NAIA, but, in front of the home crowd, Avila put on a top performance, scoring 82.83 with a one-point deduction.

This was the final regular-season competition for Avila as Kramm and her squad will now turn their sights to the KCAC Confernece Championship on March 14 at York University before the NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach on April 9 and 10.
