Evangel tied the game in the third but Avila took the lead right back in the bottom half on an RBI groundout from Isaiah Ramos. 2-1 Avila after three.

The lead was short-lived for Avila as Evangel went up 3-2 after the fourth inning.

The two teams remained scoreless for the next three innings before Avila tied the score once again in the bottom of the eighth.

After two quick outs, JJ Dain walked and went to second on an Evangel error. Pinch-hitter Aidan Johnson brought Dain home and tied the game with an RBI single.

A scoreless ninth inning by both teams sent the game to extras.

A scoreless 10th and 11th sent the game even further to extras.

Back-to-back run-scoring base this in the 12th from the Valor gave Evangel a 6-3 lead in the top of the 12th inning.

After a leadoff walk in the bottom half, Avila went down while unable to come up with the tying runs needed, falling 6-3 in 12 innings.

Avila got 4.1 spectacular innings out of the bullpen from Corbin Hamman, striking out five while keeping Evangel off the scoreboard.
