TWENTY-FIVE STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED FALL NAIA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila Athletics has announced that 25 student-athletes from its four fall sports have been named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
“I am incredibly proud of all of our fall student-athletes for this great achievement,” said Avila Athletic Director Shawn Summe. “As important as success on the field and court is, the success that our student-athletes achieve in the classroom is more important. Being named a scholar-athlete means they are on track to graduate and do great things in life.”
The breakdown of the 25 Eagle student-athletes by sport is below:
Football (4): Colton Baxter, Francisco Beltran, Fernando Garcia and Dameyon Lynaum.
Men’s Soccer (6): Jacob Wood, Johnnathan Fager, Malachi Saffrey, Malcolm Goswell, Robert Davies and Thomas Sweet.
Women’s Soccer (9): Annika Holtorf, Cali Lasater, Danielle Desmarteau, Hope Hines, Isabelle Moreno, Joselyn Clark, Karely Gutierrez, Mackenzie Baxley and Samantha Lasater.
Women’s Volleyball (6): Avry Dunn, Kendyll Garner, Maddie Jones, Megan Davies, Sophia Giorgio and Sydney Owens.
